This is an up close and personal account of the events that lead to the rescue of several hundred thousand British troops that had been driven to a small area of France. The advancing German army, in the early days of World War 2, could not be stopped. The movie is directed by Christopher Nolan. He had an effective idea in shooting this that brought us intimately familiar with three sets of people involved. It was shot from the perspective of: The Sea, The Land and The Air. Each of which profiles individuals involved and their unique challenges. The editing is a bit herky jerky but the story development is excellent. I felt that I was there, in the boat, on the beach & in the air flying a Spitfire.
